Tottenham Hotspur have had a very interesting transfer window so far. Having let go of Ange Postecoglou early in the summer, the club brought in Thomas Frank from Brentford and took some time lining up their transfer targets with the Danish tactician.
Ultimately, the first major move that Spurs made this summer was to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham. It was a huge coup for the London club, which has now brought in a ceiling-rising player, while the negotiations for Morgan Gibbs-White seem to have hit a roadblock with the player rejoining Forest pre-season training.
While the arrival of Kudus has lifted the mood of the camp, MLS club LAFC could dampen it with its next move. As per reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the North American club has presented its initial proposal to Tottenham captain Son Heung-min.
Star of their project

LAFC intends to sign the South Korean legend this summer and make him the ‘star of their project’. Tottenham have left the decision up to Son Heung-min, who is soon set to hold talks with the new gaffer to make a decision about his future.
Having been such a great servant for the club for a decade now, it makes sense that Tottenham want to let Son Heung-min make a decision and not stand in his way. That said, should he decide to stay, he could still have a key role under Frank.
Injuries have prevented Son from playing at his best for the past couple of seasons, which has, in turn, affected Tottenham, who have largely been dependent on Son Heung-min for goals. However, they now have a squad that can cope without their captain.
Tottenham fan favorite
One thing that Tottenham need to be aware of is the emotional and financial repercussions that could ensue from letting Son leave. He is an N17 favourite and is also a brand that adds a lot of value to the club, and this could destabilize the squad so close to the start of the season.
The next few days and weeks could provide further clarity on what the future holds for Son Heung-min and if he’ll be available for Tottenham in the upcoming season. The sooner this decision is made, the better it is for the club and the player, but if it does come to a goodbye, it is going to be a hard day for the Tottenham fans.
