FC Barcelona have a relatively young squad whose average age is on the lower side. What this means is that most of the players at the club are either not yet near their prime years or are just entering them, making them very valuable assets in the market.
However, the Catalan giants have never been a big-selling club, opting to keep hold of resources that they think are useful to them. Thus, there is almost no chance that Barcelona will sell one of their guaranteed starters this summer.
However, that resolve could be tested this summer, as per Fichajes, as Manchester City prepare €80m offer to convince Barcelona to sell Jules Kounde. The Frenchman is coming off one of his best seasons and could be an option for the English club.
Ever-present Kounde

One of Hansi Flick’s trusted lieutenants last season, Kounde might have ended the year as the Barcelona player with the most minutes under his belt if not for the injury at the fag end that kept him out of action for a few weeks.
Barcelona have no intention of selling Kounde and are in negotiations with the player’s camp over a potential renewal. The 26-year-old’s contract expires in 2027, and the intention for all parties is to sign a new deal and continue this association.
Manchester City, on the other hand, have just let Kyle Walker go to Burnley, leaving the squad with two right-back options – Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunez. Neither player is a typical right-back, although the former is very comfortable in that position.
Kounde se queda
Signing Kounde would be a massive upgrade for the English club, and he would perfectly fit into Pep Guardiola’s liking for versatile players who can play in multiple positions. The Frenchman can be the perfect mirror for Josko Gvardiol on the left side.
However, irrespective of what Man City offer, Barcelona should not be entertaining any offers for Kounde. One of the club’s best and most important players, and let’s hope that he signs a new deal very soon and plays a huge part in the club’s future.
