FC Barcelona have had a very decent summer transfer window so far, signing the likes of Joan Garcia from Espanyol and Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen, and have also wrapped up a deal that would see Marcus Rashford join from Manchester United on loan.
With a few weeks still left to go in the summer transfer window, there is a good chance that the club will make more reinforcements to give Hansi Flick the best possible squad to compete on all fronts in the upcoming season.
Even currently, Barcelona have one of the most talented squads in the world. There are a lot of young players that Hansi Flick has had a lot of fun working with, and of course, there is the X-factor that not many other clubs can boast – the academy.
Barcelona plan Julian Alvarez move in 2026

Even so, it looks like the club has already started planning for the summer of 2026. Now, as per Fichajes, Barcelona are contemplating making an offer of between €90-100 million for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
The Catalan club feels that such a bid would do enough to entice the Spanish club into considering the offer. With Robert Lewandowski’s deal expiring at the end of the current season, a marquee striker could be on the cards next summer.
Alvarez joined Madrid from Manchester City at the beginning of last summer. The 25-year-old had a brilliant first season in La Liga, scoring goals for fun and establishing himself as one of the best attacking players in the league.
Will Barcelona follow up on the interest?

Diego Simeone views him as a cornerstone of his project and would do everything to keep hold of him, but it could finally come down to the player’s desire. It is not always that the opportunity to play for Barcelona comes knocking.
It remains to be seen how Alvarez performs for Atletico Madrid this season. A good season would only drive his stock prices even higher, and it remains to be seen if Barcelona are still interested in signing him, come 2026. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
