FC Barcelona have finally found their new player for the left wing position after months of work, as they have officially announced the signing of the Manchester United star Marcus Rashford on loan with a purchase option.
The Englishman’s signing is attracting mixed reactions, as there is no doubt about his talent and skills, but his consistency and ability to contribute to the defence raise some doubts about his fit in this Blaugrana team.
Gary Lineker predicts success for Marcus Rashford at Barcelona

In such a context, the former Red Devils player Gary Lineker believes that Rashford would do quite well at Barcelona. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the English commentator explained his prediction in the following ways:
“I suspect Marcus will do well… What’s happened with the players who have left Manchester? The players who left have stepped up; they’ve done incredibly well everywhere. So there’s something wrong at United right now, and the players who’ve moved away have generally succeeded.”
While recognizing the challenge awaiting him, Lineker was confident that his compatriot is arriving with the right state of mind: “Rashford seems to be arriving in the right frame of mind. This is a big challenge for him.”
Challenges await the English forward
The English commentator also advised Rashford to remain patient while waiting for opportunities at his new club:
“He’s going to a place with brilliant players where it would be difficult to play regularly, but there are many games, and although Barça have three forwards like Raphinha, Lewandowski and Lamine, you can’t expect to play every match from start to finish… Lewandowski is past his prime, although what he’s achieving at his age is remarkable.”
Overall, Gary Lineker believed this was a good signing by Barcelona:
“It’s a good signing for Barcelona. If Marcus arrives at his best, he’s incredible. He was fantastic at Aston Villa and can do it at Barcelona. Hopefully that’s the case.”
There is no doubt that this new chapter will be quite a challenge for Marcus Rashford. Hopefully, he will rise up to this challenge and take Lineker’s advice to prove that Hansi Flick was right to bet on him.
