Valencia want to sign 23-year-old Barcelona player on loan but club want permanent sale – Report

Date:

It is not always for a youngster coming to FC Barcelona to get a chance in the first team and become an integral part of the setup. The existing competition is almost always too tough to handle, and this is a harsh reality for youngsters to deal with.

Last summer, Barcelona signed Pau Victor on a permanent deal from Girona after his previous season on loan with the reserve team was a massive success. The 23-year-old impressed in pre-season under Hansi Flick but found minutes tough to come by throughout the campaign.

With the impending arrival of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, it was mentioned that Barcelona would now try to accelerate the departure of Pau Victor this summer, with a lot of interest in the player.

Now, as per SPORT, La Liga club Valencia want to sign Pau Victor this summer and is looking to take the Spaniard on loan with an option to buy, while also giving Barcelona a buy-back clause that provides the club some control over his future.

However, during a meeting with sporting director Deco, Barcelona made it clear that they are only interested in a permanent sale this summer. The Catalan club has set a price tag of €10 million for the 23-year-old.

The Catalan club also wants to add a buy-back clause and financial gains in the future, much like they have done on most sales recently. These demands mean that the negotiations with Valencia have currently stalled.

Negotiations at a standstill

The report mentions that Pau Victor would be willing to accept Valencia as his next destination, if he was to remain in La Liga. It is still not clear if any European clubs are willing to pay Barcelona’s asking price for the 23-year-old.

The next few weeks should provide further clarity on what the future holds for Pau Victor. The 23-year-old is definitely talented and has the potential to play for a club like Valencia. Let’s wait and see how things play out on the negotiations front this summer.
