FC Barcelona are closing in on their third arrival of the summer on the heels of Joan Garcia and Roony Bardghji earlier this window. The Catalan club has reached an agreement in principle to sign Marcus Rashford on loan from the Red Devils.
Rashford fell out with Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim last season, and he has now managed to secure his dream move to Barcelona. He will join Hansi Flick’s exciting project, where the German coach has been looking to bring in a new left-winger for some time now.
Now, as per reputed journalist David Ornstein, Barcelona will be covering the entire 100% of Rashford’s wages during his time on loan at the club. That is a significant financial burden that the Catalan club has agreed to take on.

As per the report by The Athletic, Rashford is one of the highest earners at Manchester United and earns more than £325,000 per week. Last season, Aston Villa covered close to 75% of those wages, and now Barcelona have agreed to 100%.
Some rough calculations suggest that the total cost over the course of a year would amount to approximately £16.9 million, although this figure is only an estimate. It remains unclear whether the player has agreed to any wage reduction that might benefit the club.
Regardless, Barcelona have managed to sign an excellent left-winger on a loan deal with an option to buy. The 27-year-old has the potential to explode and become a very good player, and Hansi Flick will trust him to come good.
A versatile attacker
The arrival of Rashford gives the Catalan club a very versatile attacker. Although one would assume him to be used as a left-winger who inverts alongside an overlapping Alejandro Balde, he can also play as a striker if needed.
